Description: Ewa Beach Golf Club is located in Ewa, just west of Honolulu on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The site was and old Kiawe forest that had been used as a dump for many years. As part of the project all the waste was removed from the site. Golfscape worked with Nelson Wright Haworth to save the majority of existing Kiawe trees located on site. Several Hawaiian burial grounds were found on site during the design process, all of which were preserved and in some cases these sites were restored. Careful consideration was given to the selection of plant materials on both golf courses due to the high levels of salt chlorides in the brackish irrigation water source for the project. Native plant materials were utilized throughout the course.
